Our client, a reputable and welcoming law firm in Godalming, is looking for a skilled Legal Secretary with a strong background in Conveyancing. This role is focused on providing support within the residential conveyancing department to an Associate. The position requires a local candidate with relevant experience and involves working full-time, five days a week, in the office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Fee Earner with the day to day running of conveyancing files
  • Ordering searches and Land Registry documents
  • Opening and closing files
  • Liaising with clients and Estate Agents
  • Preparing completion statements
  • Prepare and submit SDLT forms to HM Revenue & Customs
  • Dealing with the Post completion formalities
  • Arrange meetings and appointments
  • Prepare meeting rooms

Experience and Skills Requirements

  • Proficient audio typist
  • Make telephone calls and deal with enquiries
  • Adaptable and willing to learn
  • Attention to detail ad thorough
  • Presentable and act in a professional manner
  • Be proactive and friendly
  • To assist others with duties when required
