I have a FANTASTIC opportunity for a Residential Support Worker to join an AMAZING and MODERN residential children's home in Wadebridge. You'll be supporting young people between the ages of 8-16 years old with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.
We are looking for ENTHUSIASTIC, RESILIENT, and MOTIVATED individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of young people; to enable them to develop socially, emotionally and behaviourally in a setting where they feel safe and cared for.
No two days are ever the same, so you need to be happy in a busy, ever-changing environment. It is challenging but incredibly rewarding work.

Childrens Residential Support Worker:
Salary: £31,840 - £34,240 (Inclusive of sleeps)
Location: Wadebridge (PL31)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift pattern: (9am - 10pm - sleep - 7am - 9am)
**Due to the nature of the job we will only accept candidates who hold a Full UK Driving Licence**

Responsibilities of a Residential Support Worker:
\n
\n- To encourage the young people to do activities and take responsibility for their own lives depending on their age.
\n
\n
\n- To keep a homely, friendly culture in the environment of the homes.
\n
\n
\n- To be able to deal with challenging behaviours when needed.
\n
\n
\n- Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare.
\n
\n
\n- Provide support for the children and young people in the home and to promote their independence and well-being.
\n
\n
\n- Maintain a safe environment for young people.
\n
\n
\n- Ensuring the safety of the students and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of the individual's; care plan, guidelines, reward system and preferred method of communication.
\n
\n
\n- Supporting taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically.
\n
\n
\n- Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers and other professionals that may be involved in the young people's lives, such as Psychologists.
\n
\n
Requirements:
\n
\n- Experience as a Children's Support Worker, or with Young People is desirable but not essential.
\n
\n
\n- Experience within another healthcare or social care setting is desirable but not essential.
\n
\n
\n- You must be a car driver as you will be required to transport young people from time to time.
\n
\n
\n- You must be over the age of 21.
\n
\n
\n- You must be able to commute to Wadebridge.
\n
\n
