Our client, a renowned hospitality establishment based in Brighton, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Retail Manager to oversee their retail operations. You will be reporting to the operational manager, have good food and beverage knowledge and/or experience in retail, restaurant or cafe management. Key Responsibilities:
Store Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the retail outlet, ensuring a high level of customer service, product availability, and visual merchandising.
Sales Performance: Drive sales and profitability by implementing effective strategies, monitoring performance metrics, and optimising retail processes.
Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage a team of retail staff, fostering a positive work environment and ensuring high levels of staff engagement and performance.
Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order inventory, and manage stock control processes to minimize waste and ensure product availability.
Customer Experience: Ensure that all customers receive a memorable shopping experience by maintaining high standards of service, product knowledge, and store presentation.
Financial Management: Manage the retail budget, control costs, and ensure all financial targets are met, including sales, profitability, and expense control.
Compliance: Ensure that the retail operations comply with all relevant health and safety regulations, licensing laws, and company policies.
Marketing and Promotions: Work closely with the marketing team to plan and execute promotional activities and in-store events that drive footfall and sales.
Reporting: Prepare regular reports on sales performance, customer feedback, and operational efficiency, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications and Experience:
Industry Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a retail management role within the hospitality industry or retail exp and café/restaurant management experience.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team to achieve high performance.
Sales Expertise: Strong sales acumen with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Customer Focus: Passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and creating a positive shopping experience.
Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Financial Acumen: Experience in managing budgets, controlling costs, and understanding key financial metrics.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with staff, customers, and senior management.
Problem-Solving: Proactive and resourceful, with the ability to quickly address challenges and implement effective solutions.
Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by the nature of the hospitality industry.
