Job Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced Roller Operator to join a well-established construction team in Rugby. The ideal candidate will have experience operating a 16-tonne self-propelled roller and will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of the machinery on-site.

This role requires a Blue CPCS ticket and a proactive attitude towards both the operation and upkeep of the equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate a 16-tonne self-propelled roller for various surfacing and compaction tasks on construction sites.
  • Conduct daily maintenance checks to ensure the roller is in good working condition (e.g., checking oil, fuel, tyres, and ensuring safety features are functioning properly).
  • Perform basic repairs or coordinate with the maintenance team when more complex issues arise.
  • Ensure the safe operation of machinery in line with site safety regulations.
  • Assist with site preparation and ensure the roller is ready for use at all times.
  • Comply with all relevant health and safety regulations and site procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and work completed.
Requirements:
  • Blue CPCS ticket (Essential).
  • Proven experience operating a self-propelled roller, preferably in a construction or civil engineering environment.
  • Ability to carry out basic maintenance checks and report faults.
  • Strong awareness of health and safety practices on construction sites.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • Must be punctual, reliable, and have a strong work ethic.
  • Immediate availability for an ASAP start.
Desirable:
  • Previous experience working on highways or large-scale construction projects.
  • Ability to operate additional machinery or hold other relevant tickets (e.g., 360 excavator, telehandler, etc.) is advantageous but not essential.
