Job Title: Rigger 
Location: Braintree, Essex
Employment Type: Long term Contract (6 months)

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Rigger to join our team on a 6-month contract in Braintree. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, inspecting, and dismantling rigging equipment to safely lift, move, and position heavy loads for construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of rigging techniques, safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in dynamic environments.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Safely set up and operate rigging equipment, including ropes, cables, pulleys, and winches, to lift and move materials and equipment.
  • Inspect and assess rigging gear and machinery to ensure proper function and safety compliance.
  • Collaborate with crane operators, site supervisors, and other team members to plan and execute lifting and moving operations.
  • Conduct pre-operation safety checks, including load assessments and stability calculations.
  • Dismantle and store rigging equipment after job completion and maintain accurate equipment logs.
  • Ensure all lifting and rigging activities meet company safety standards and industry regulations.

Qualifications and Experience:


  • Previous experience as a Rigger in construction or heavy industry (minimum 2 years preferred).
  • Certification in rigging and/or lifting operations (e.g., CPCS, NPORS, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with industry standards and safety protocols, including LOLER and PUWER regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret rigging plans and blueprints.
  • Strong physical stamina and the ability to work in various outdoor environments.
  • Team player with effective communication skills and a focus on safety.

Desirable Skills:


  • Experience with cranes and other lifting machinery.
  • Knowledge of equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
  • First Aid certification is a plus.
