p One of the world's leading law firms, headquartered in the USA, but with a significant presence in London and across Europe, is seeking to hire a strong Risk and Compliance Counsel /strong to support the office of General Counsel. /p br Apply promptly! A high volume of applicants is expected for the role as detailed below, do not wait to send your CV. br p This position will aid and support the in house legal team within the firm in ensuring risk and compliance with Uk and European professional standards. Responsible for a team of compliance professionals the role will be responsible for: /p ul li strong Regulatory Compliance: /strong Ensuring the firm is compliant with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. This includes keeping up-to-date with changes in legislation and providing guidance to the firm on how to comply such as DAC6, The Modern Slavery Act. The General Data Protection Regulations, The Criminal Finances Act, The 5th Anti-Money Laundering Directive /li li strong Risk Assessment and Management: /strong Identifying potential risks to the firm, assessing their likelihood and impact, and developing strategies to mitigate them. This might involve conducting risk assessments, implementing risk management policies, and monitoring risk levels. /li li strong Policy Development: /strong Creating and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and internal standards. These policies may cover areas such as client confidentiality, conflict of interest, anti-money laundering, and data protection. /li li strong Investigations: /strong Conducting investigations into potential compliance breaches or allegations of misconduct. This may involve interviewing witnesses, gathering evidence, and making recommendations for corrective action. /li /ul p strong Candidate Requirements: /strong /p ul li You will be a qualified solicitor and have experience of risk and compliance from a professional services environment, such as a law firm, accountancy practice or consulting organisation. /li li Strong knowledge of the law around regulatory compliance for professional services organisations especially relating to AML and Counter Terrorist Financing and Sanctions. In addition working knowledge of the Money Laundering Regulations, POCA and the SRA Standards and Regulations. /li li Able to advise and train wider members of staff. /li li Able to manage and lead a team of compliance professionals. /li /ul
