Job Title: Roofing Engineer (Commercial Maintenance)

Location: West Midlans (Frequent travel and overnight stays required)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Roofing Engineer to join our team, specializing in the maintenance and repair of commercial roofing systems across various locations. This role involves extensive travel and staying away from home for extended periods as you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing commercial roofs in different parts of the country. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in roofing, be comfortable with hands-on work, and be willing to work away from home regularly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspection and Maintenance: Conduct thorough inspections of commercial roofs to assess condition and identify any issues such as leaks, damaged materials, or structural concerns.


• Repair Work: Perform repairs on a range of roofing systems, including flat, pitched, and metal roofs, ensuring high-quality workmanship and compliance with safety standards.


• Preventative Maintenance: Carry out routine maintenance to prevent roof degradation, such as cleaning drainage systems, re-sealing joints, and replacing worn-out materials.


• Health & Safety: Adhere to strict health and safety protocols while working at heights, including using fall protection equipment and following safety regulations.


• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of completed inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities, providing detailed reports to the project manager.


• Collaboration: Work closely with site managers, clients, and other team members to coordinate maintenance schedules and ensure the minimal disruption of business operations.


• Travel and Overnight Stays: Willingness to travel extensively and stay away from home during the week, depending on project requirements.

Key Requirements:

• Experience: Proven experience in commercial roofing maintenance and repair is essential, particularly with various roofing systems (e.g., EPDM, TPO, PVC, metal, etc.).


• Skills: Strong understanding of roofing materials and installation techniques, as well as the ability to diagnose and resolve roof-related issues effectively.


• Certifications: Relevant roofing qualifications and certifications (e.g., CSCS card, Working at Heights certification) are preferred.


• Flexibility: Willingness to travel nationwide and stay overnight regularly as part of the job.


• Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit and able to work in various weather conditions, including handling heavy materials and working at heights.


• Problem-Solving: Ability to work independently and troubleshoot roof problems efficiently.


• Driving License: A full UK driving license is required.
