Safeguarding Officer - Part Time 15 Hours�- Mainstream Secondary School - Permanent Position - September Start�
I am seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Safeguarding Officer to join a�Mainstream Secondary School in Kingston Upon Thames. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and welfare of all students, providing support, and managing safeguarding concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
Safeguarding and Child Protection:
- Act as the first point of contact for all safeguarding concerns within the school.
- Implement and uphold the school's safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure appropriate actions are taken in response to safeguarding issues.
Support and Guidance:
- Provide support and guidance to students experiencing safeguarding concerns.
- Work closely with staff to ensure they understand and comply with safeguarding policies.
- Liaise with external agencies, parents, and carers to address safeguarding concerns.
Training and Development:
- Deliver safeguarding training sessions to staff and students.
- Stay updated with the latest safeguarding legislation and best practices.
- Promote a culture of safeguarding within the school community.
Record Keeping and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of all safeguarding concerns and actions taken.
- Prepare reports for senior leadership and external agencies as required.
- Monitor and review safeguarding practices, making improvements where necessary.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure safeguarding is a priority.
- Participate in multi-agency meetings and contribute to safeguarding plans.
- Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and external partners.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in a safeguarding or child protection role, preferably within an educational setting.
- Knowledge of current safeguarding legislation and best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
