Irwin and Colton have been engaged by a leading UK food wholesaler to recruit a Safety Systems Improvement Manager. The organisation supplies more than 10,000 food, drink and catering supply products to thousands of customers in all walks of life from hotels to schools and universities.

This particular role will be leading on development and management of the organisation's health & safety management systems to support sites and achieve legal compliance whilst also implementing safe ways of working.

Responsibilities of the Safety Systems Improvement Manager include:

• Manage and develop health and safety management systems and standards, ensuring these reflect legal and company requirements
• Manage and develop internal H&S systems, including the central log of all health and safety actions from audits, insurance inspections, claims, incidents and manage the external ISO certification programme
• Develop risk and analysis and improvement plans for the business, identifying shortfalls and gaps in the current systems and processes
• Develop and manage the health & safety performance dashboard which includes key KPI's and information for the SLT

The successful Safety Systems Improvement Manager will have:

• Proven experience in a similar management systems role ideally working within a logistics or manufacturing environment
• Experience in the management of an ISO 45001 certified system
• NEBOSH Certificate and ISO Auditor qualifications
• Excellent communication skills with proven experience engaging a wide range of stakeholders
• A keen eye for detail with the ability to work independently or as part of a team is essential
