Sales and Estimating
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Estimator to join a team specializing in the manufacture of fine furniture and joinery for super yachts and high-end residential projects. This full-time salaried position, based in workshops with development prospects for the right candidates, involves preparing and publishing tenders and estimates for yacht and residential interior fit-out projects ranging from individual items to full turnkey solutions.
The Role:
- Prepare and publish tenders and estimates.
- Work on live projects controlling and preparing variations and additions.
- Register and update the enquiries register as part of the Sales and Estimating team.
- Establish and grow new opportunities while ensuring existing client expectations are met.
Duties:
- Take briefs, identify scope and materials, prepare sub-contract packages, and seek specialist prices.
- Attend mid-tender meetings on and off-site.
- Price projects and create tender documents.
- Work alongside the project team on live projects.
- Control and prepare variations and additions.
- Manage and update the tender and sales log.
- Create new projects and handle project handovers.
Skills:
- Experience in high-end joinery estimating with a good understanding of furniture and joinery construction methods and materials.
- Ability to understand technical drawings and design sketches.
- Strong IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Good communication skills and attention to detail.
- Full driving licence required.

Job Description:
�Estimating:
- Provide quick pricing and fully itemized estimates.
- Create and populate builds.
- Retain quotes for materials or sub-contract work (pre-contract).
- Draft offer letters for distribution.
- Report and present tenders internally before submission.
- Present tenders to clients (in person or via email).
- Draft specifications.
- Sketch and design out issues for clarity and subcontracting.
- Map hours and project timelines within global planning.
- Meet clients and visit sites as appropriate.
- Negotiate and reprice as needed.
- Finalize and prepare handovers to Project Managers if not self-managed.
- Price and issue variations in conjunction with Project Managers.
- Manage and update the tender and sales log.
- Create new projects.
Sales:
- Drive leads and contacts through visits, follow-ups, shows, events, emails, and calls.
- Collaboratively develop sales strategy.
- Collaboratively develop sales samples and respond to market trends/requests.
- Manage client requests for samples or feasibility queries.
Marketing:
- Direct photography for marketing purposes.
- Assist with planning and drafting social media posts.
- Assist with marketing strategy and materials.
- Conduct competitor and industry research.
- Provide global planning updates for all projects (sales, future, and live).
- Report on project outturns as requested by Project Managers.
