Job Description
FPG has a fantastic opportunity for a Solution Sales Lead top join our customer on a full time basis, they are a leading technology company with customers in coutnries all over the world.
They are looking to hire a Senior Technical Sales Engineer with extensive experience with DWDM, ROADM, OTN technologies, 100G to 200G to 400G transmission, and DCI solutions. In this permanent opportunity you will have the opportunity to move into a managerial role in the future. This is a hybrid role for someone that lives within a commutable distance from London - a hybrid-working policy is in place.
You will act as the customer-facing sales team representative for our client. You will collaborate with Account Managers and the Account Director to support named accounts in the Western region, including the UK, France, and other countries. Your role involves performing technical tasks such as preparing written proposals, designing and engineering network solutions, and generating quotes. You will also communicate solutions to customers and manage ongoing technical relationships while working with your colleagues to drive product requirements and provide feedback to product management.

Collaborate with customer engineering teams to design optical network solutions based on advanced fiber optics and ultra-high-capacity technologies.
Analyze and evaluate customers’ technical requirements, propose network architecture solutions, and respond to RFIs, RFPs, and other requests.
Provide product and technical expertise to support sales efforts for transmission, switching, data products, and SDN management systems.
Create sophisticated network designs for customers using optical networking products.
Utilize network design and modeling tools proficiently.
Interface with the sales group and product management/marketing to develop or propose product enhancements to meet customer requirements.
Maintain and grow technical expertise, product knowledge, and sales skills through ongoing training.
Act as the first-line support “Go-To” person for allocated sales opportunities.
Travel required: Strong technical knowledge of core optical networking, including DWDM, ROADM, OTN technologies, 100G to 200G to 400G transmission, and DCI solutions.
Technical knowledge in data networking, including an understanding of IP/Ethernet and other data networking protocols.
Technical knowledge of Software Defined Networking, network orchestration, and Network Function Virtualization.
General knowledge of computers and application programs (e.g., MS Office).
Flexible and able to handle multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
Fluency in English
Demonstrates leadership in technical sales activities.

~ 5+ years of experience in the telecommunications industry, including optical networking experience.
~ Prior systems/sales engineering experience is a plus.
~ Experience as a contributor on a sales account team is advantageous.
