Sanctions Officer - UK Branch

For the UK Branch of Generali Global Corporate & Commercial (GC&C) we are looking for a Sanctions Officer to join the Compliance team.With reference to the Global Corporate & Commercial Business handled in the UK Branch of Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A., and in line with the organisational governance, you shall report to the UK Branch Chief Compliance Officer and MLRO, as well as the GC&C Head of Anti-Financial Crime.You shall be in charge of managing risks related to International Sanctions within the UK Branch GC&C business; ensure compliance with national and international sanctions regulations and laws, while helping to protect the company's reputation.Main responsabilities:Provides advisory opinions to the UK Branch GC&C business on escalated International Sanctions risks, in accordance with International Sanctions Group Policies and Guidelines.Escalates to the UK Branch CCO and MLRO, and the GC&C Head of Anti-Financial Crime any matters requiring senior review, apparent breaches requiring declarations to the necessary authorities.Advises the UK Branch GC&C business on the correct interpretation of the International Sanctions Group Policies and Guidelines.Monitor changes in International Sanctions and provides notification and advice to the UK Branch GC&C business on the impact of such changes to their business.Performs risk assessments and second level controls for GC&C business in the UK branch, adopting Group level methodologies and standards.Involvement as a key stakeholder in any UK Branch GC&C business strategic projects that may have International Sanctions touchpoints, to provide advisory support and monitor the project to ensure alignment with Group Policies and Guidelines.Aligns with the UK Branch GC&C business on the progress of internal audits, or external audits and inspections.Oversee the adaptation and drafting of any local policies and procedures to be cascaded to the UK branch GC&C business.Provide a quarterly summary report to the GC&C Head of AFC of significant risks and remedial actions taken.Provide periodic reporting to CCO, GC&C Head of AFC and Group functions on BAU.Provide regular training to GC&C employees on International Sanctions law and regulation, and internal P&Ps.Qualification and experience requirements:Degree in law, finance, insurance, trade, or related fields. Bonus: ACAMs, ICA, CII or similar accreditations.English. Bonus: any other language. Working knowledge of Italian to be especially considered.At least five (5) years’ experience in non-life commercial insurance, in a second line function.Clear experience and knowledge of International Sanctions laws and regulations, especially in respect of EU, UK, US regimes.
