About the Role

As a School Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for students, parents, visitors, and staff. Your role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of the school office, handling queries efficiently, and maintaining a professional reception area. You will also provide general administrative support to the wider school team. Training will be provided for the school's internal systems, particularly for handling student records and answering calls. The role will focus on answering calls and looking up student records.

Position Details:

Location: Leeds
Contract: Part time (Tuesday - Friday)
Pay Rate: £13.50 - £16.00 per hour

Essential requirements:


  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role in a school.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Familiarity with school management systems such as SIMS or Arbor (preferred)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and school systems (training provided).
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Professional and friendly approach to interactions.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.

Responsibilities


  • Greet and assist students, parents, staff, and visitors in a professional manner.
  • Answer telephone calls, take messages, and direct calls appropriately.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing emails efficiently.
  • Maintain and update student records using the school's internal system.
  • Support school staff with administrative tasks such as photocopying and filing.
  • Assist in preparing documents, reports, and school letters.
  • Manage student late arrivals and early departures.
  • Support attendance monitoring by updating relevant registers.
  • Assist with maintaining staff and student contact lists.
  • Perform any other administrative duties as required by senior staff.
