Job Description

Monarch Education is working with a school that requires a qualified Science Teacher to join its team. The school will consider ECT applications.

Job Type: Full-time, temp to perm

\n

Location: Salford

\n

Hours: 8:15 - 14:30 daily

\n

Pay: Between £125 - £175 per day, depending on experience

\n

\n

The successful candidate will be joining a supportive faculty who have a strong ethos for hard work and excellent standards of education. They work hard to create a warm, friendly and supportive working environment for both staff and pupils. This is a large secondary school with good senior management and a supportive network and is part of a national multi-academy trust. All staff have high expectations of achievement and uphold strong moral values. The school was rated GOOD in their latest Ofsted report.

  • Applicants with QTS or QTLS only (Qualified teacher status)
  • \n
  • British-trained teachers and overseas-trained teachers who have eligibility to work in the UK will be considered but must have experience teaching in a UK-based classroom
  • \n
  • Must hold a science degree OR have recent teaching experience in their field
  • \n
  • Awareness and understanding of the National Curriculum for science across KS3 and KS4
  • \n

The successful candidate:

    \n
  • Can build strong positive relationships with colleagues and students alike
  • \n
  • Maintain a high level and standard of subject-specific knowledge to support the delivery of the curriculum.
  • \n
  • Will carry out intervention and support for underachieving students.
  • \n
  • Perform rigorous assessment of student progress, target setting and record keeping.
  • \n
  • Respond positively to young people's needs and seek out innovative ways of engaging with them
  • \n
  • Ability to promote a positive ethos and role model positive attributes
  • \n

The role:

    \n
  • Teaching science to a KS3/KS4 level
  • \n
  • Creating and implementing lesson plans in line with the curriculum
  • \n
  • Managing a large classroom of students, tailoring lessons to suit their needs
  • \n
  • Liaise with students, parents and staff, maintaining a high level of care and professionalism in all dealings with them
  • \n
\n
