About the Role:

As a Teacher of Science, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons in biology, chemistry, and physics across key stages. Your role will involve inspiring students to think critically, develop a love for science, and achieve excellent academic outcomes. You will work alongside a team of supportive colleagues who share your commitment to high standards of teaching.

As a Science Teacher, your responsibilities will be:


  • Teach science subjects (biology, chemistry, and/or physics) to students across key stages.
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that inspire a passion for science and encourage critical thinking.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods, including practical experiments, to ensure all students are actively engaged.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to encourage further academic improvement.
  • Maintain an inclusive and positive classroom environment that fosters student participation and growth.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a consistent approach to student development and learning.
  • Support students in their preparation for exams and help guide their future academic choices.
  • Participate in school meetings, parent consultations, and professional development activities.

Teacher of Science Requirements:


  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Science or a related subject is essential.
  • Experience teaching Science at the secondary level is highly desirable.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage students in science.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A passion for inspiring students and fostering a love for the sciences.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
