Science teachers (KS3/KS4) - QTS

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join our teams in and around Preston, Blackburn, Blackpool, Lancaster, and Wigan. In this role, you'll have the chance to inspire and mentor KS3 and KS4 students in their scientific studies. In this role, you will create a dynamic and supportive learning environment, encourage hands-on experimentation, and help students build a solid foundation for further scientific study. You will also assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and contribute to the overall development of the science department.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to subject development by producing, reviewing and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work
• Strong knowledge of the curriculum
• Punctual and reliable
• Teach classes allocated and provide a well planned challenging, purposeful learning environment
• Develop approach to self - directed learning, use technology to support learning
• Use assessment data to inform lesson planning
• Set homework and mark promptly
• Ensure a high quality of teaching and learning takes place
• Deal with immediate problems/emergencies according to school policy and procedures
• Respond to questioning
• Supervise and support students in laboratory experiments and research projects.

• Strong classroom management

Personal attributes:

• You will have a genuine passion for teaching
• Experience up to key stage 3/4
• QTS/PGCE equivalent
• Be flexible and committed
