Job DescriptionThe Global Scientific Director, Anti-Infectives, is a key senior role within a well-esteemed global pharma company, providing deep clinical expertise in fungal disease to ensure that disease area strategies and tactics support the scientific needs of HCPs and deliver optimal patient outcomes.He/she will be a subject matter expert in fungal/anti-infective disease and will act as a key internal company expert to support the team as it enters this new, complex and fast-moving, specialty disease area. This person will be a core member of the Medical Affairs and R&D Leadership teams and the scientific team lead. This role could be suitable for a physician in clinical practice looking to gain hands-on industry experience and is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract position (flexibility for a permanent position, part-time or contract role) KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONSCore member of the Medical Affairs and R&D Leadership Teams, supporting the planning and delivery of all scientific activities in anti-infectivesCore member of an anti-fungal medicine Asset team, leading expert scientific input into cross functional customer engagement planning and executionProvides clinical expertise to R&D teams to ensure that data generation plans in anti-infectives are aligned with clinical practice and deliver optimised patient outcomesProvides clinical expertise to Medical Affairs, both globally and in the countries, to ensure that all anti-infective activities concerning insight generation, data generation and scientific communications support business and patient outcomesCarries out legitimate scientific exchange with Key External Experts (KEEs), institutions and scientific societies in relevant countries and shares key insights with relevant internal teamsSupports Market Access and HEOR teams in developing burden of disease studies, budget impact models and value dossiers and acts as a scientific expert as required with HTA and other key reimbursement bodiesSupports commercial teams both globally and local as a clinical expert to ensure that commercial activities meet the needs of HCPsActs as a speaker at company sponsored non-promotional educational meetings and works closely with Faculty where required at relevant sponsored promotional or non-promotional symposia and other educational eventsEnsures all activities are carried out with the highest standards of ethics and integrity, and in line with the UK ABPI Code of PracticeAttends the Cambridge office regularly to optimise internal cross-functional collaborative working, and also ensures external focus at least 2-3 days per week to maximise collaborative working with KEEs and other scientific groupsKey Internal Stakeholders: VP Medical Affairs (line manager)VP R&D (dotted line manager)Global Medical Affairs (Anti-Infectives)KEY QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED)Medical Degree with higher medical qualification (e.g. MRCP, MRCPath, PhD etc.)At least 4-8 years’ relevant experience working in infectious diseases including medical mycologyStrong collaborative and excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skillsFluent English language skills (written and verbal)QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE (DESIRABLE)Experience working with industry on collaborative projects (e.g. IITs, Advisory Boards etc)Experience in leading/conducting clinical trials (including real world research)Fluent in an additional European language e.g. GermanUnderstanding of Industry Codes and RegulationsPlease apply or reach out to ##### for a confidential chat if you are interested in this position.
