Position: Second in Charge of MFL

Location: Hackney

School Type: Mixed, Secondary School

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time

Are you an experienced and passionate Spanish teacher ready to take the next step in your career? We have an exciting opportunity for you at our vibrant school in Hackney!

Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead and inspire our MFL department, contributing to the strategic development of language teaching across the school.
  • Teach Spanish across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 (up to A Level).
  • Play a pivotal role in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Support the Head of MFL in the day-to-day management of the department.
  • Mentor and develop colleagues to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.

Requirements:


  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential for this role. Candidates without QTS will not be considered.
  • Experience: At least a few years of teaching experience with a proven track record of success in teaching Spanish up to A Level.
  • Additional Language Skills: Ability to teach French would be highly advantageous.
  • Leadership Qualities: Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to motivate and support colleagues and students alike.
  • Passion for Languages: Enthusiastic about fostering a love for languages and cultures in students.
