GSL Education is currently recruiting experienced and reliable Secondary Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Tavistock. These roles are perfect for individuals looking to gain hands-on classroom experience or support students' education without needing a teaching qualification.

As a Secondary Cover Supervisor, you will play a critical role in maintaining continuity during teacher absences by managing classrooms, delivering pre-set work, and supporting students to stay on task. This is an excellent opportunity to work flexibly and make a meaningful impact in a secondary school setting.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans to secondary school students across various subjects.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies.
• Ensure students remain engaged and productive during lessons.
• Provide feedback to the teaching staff regarding student progress and any incidents.
• Adapt quickly to different classroom environments and year groups.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with secondary-age students is desirable but not essential.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Confidence and the ability to manage a classroom effectively.
• Flexibility and adaptability to work across different subjects and year groups.
• A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
