Secondary school Science teachers needed

Can you collaborate with colleagues and other school staff to enhance the science curriculum and student learning experience?

Do you hold a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)/PGCE for secondary or an equivalent teaching certification?

Can you foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration in science?

We're currently looking for a dedicated teacher to join our team in Preston, where you'll support KS3 and KS4 students. The compensation ranges from £155 to £230 per day, depending on your experience, qualifications, and teaching proficiency.

In this position, your main goal will be to deliver top-notch science education that inspires and captivates students, helping them achieve academic excellence and grasp fundamental scientific principles. You'll also play a crucial role in cultivating the future generation of scientists, nurturing their critical thinking abilities and instilling a lasting passion for learning.

Responsibilities:


  • Contribute to subject development by producing, reviewing and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work
  • Strong knowledge of the curriculum
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Teach classes allocated and provide a well planned challenging, purposeful learning environment
  • Develop approach to self - directed learning, use technology to support learning
  • Use assessment data to inform lesson planning
  • Set homework and mark promptly
  • Ensure a high quality of teaching and learning takes place
  • Deal with immediate problems/emergencies according to school policy and procedures
  • Respond to questioning

  • Managing behaviour of pupils whilst undertaking work to ensure a constructive environment
  • Strong classroom management
  • Motivated and enthusiastic demeanour
  • Be an inspiring and engaging communicator

Personal attributes:


  • You will have a genuine passion for teaching
  • Experience up to key stage 3/4
  • QTS/PGCE equivalent
  • Be flexible and committed
