Role responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching allocated areas of the Secondary curriculum to small bespoke class groups of up to 6 pupils, with the support of a Teaching Assistant. You will be required to plan, prepare and present lessons that cater for the needs of the entire ability range. You will be required to:Plan and teach well-structured lessons to assigned classes, following the school's plans, curriculum and schemes of workAssess, monitor, record and report on the learning needs, progress and achievements of assigned pupils, making accurate and productive use of assessmentAdapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of pupilsSet high standards which inspire, motivate and challenge pupilsPromote good progress outcomes by pupilsDemonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledgeParticipate in arrangements for preparing pupils for external testsBe able to teach up-to GCSE in a subject specialism areaBe able to adapt learning to meet learners with SEND RequirementsQualified teacher status (QTS)DegreeSuccessful teaching experienceExperience in delivering qualifications up-to GCSEKnowledge of the National CurriculumKnowledge of effective teaching and learning strategiesA good understanding of how children learnAbility to adapt teaching to meet pupils' needsAbility to build effective working relationships with pupilsKnowledge and understanding of child protection and safeguarding practices and protocolsKnowledge of effective behaviour management strategiesGood ICT skills, particularly using ICT to support learning What we offerA workplace that values the emotional health and wellbeing of everybody (you included!)A commitment to support your development in acquiring new skills through a wide range of professional opportunitiesAn opportunity to make a huge contribution to the lives and lifelong learning of vulnerable children who deserve high quality teaching in a safe educational provisionA friendly and inclusive team who are passionate about improving pupil outcomes The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS Check, cost of which will be met by Polaris Community.
