Job Description

There are schools around Cornwall that are seeking passionate and dedicated Secondary Teachers to join their thriving secondary school. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and challenge students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, fostering a love for learning and academic excellence. This role begins March 2025.

Duties as a Secondary Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in Various Subjects for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (Key Stage 5 desirable but not essential)
  • \n
  • Assess, track, and report on student progress, setting high expectations and supporting all learners
  • \n
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and confidence
  • \n
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to cater to different learning styles and abilities
  • \n
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour management and classroom discipline
  • \n
  • Contribute to the development of the [Subject] curriculum and take part in departmental meetings
  • \n
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents to enhance student learning
  • \n
  • Support students' personal, social, and emotional development\n
  • \n
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, school events, and enrichment opportunities\n

Ideal Secondary Teacher:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)\n
  • \n
  • Have experience or a strong understanding of teaching a subject you specialize in at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4\n
  • \n
  • Be passionate about education and student success\n
  • \n
  • Have excellent classroom management and behaviour strategies\n
  • \n
  • Be committed to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment\n
  • \n
  • Be a reflective practitioner eager to develop professionally as a Secondary Teacher
  • \n
  • (If applicable) Have experience teaching Key Stage 5 or a willingness to develop in this area
