The Role
The prevalence of children and young people in Essex schools and settings with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs has increased exponentially over recent years both locally and nationally. Their inclusion in education has become increasingly challenging.
The SEMH Strategy Team leads Essex County Council's strategic response to the challenges placed on the education system by the growth in children and young people with SEMH needs to enable schools and education settings to better support them. The role requires an experienced education professional with an understanding of children and young people's SEMH needs with the ability to work across Quadrant Education teams, other local authority teams, schools and settings, finding common purpose to deliver high quality outcomes.
