If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as an SEMH Teaching Assistant at a wonderful primary school in Ashington! 

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored support to students, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. This is a rewarding position where you can truly make a positive impact. 

Responsibilities:


  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individual education plans.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support classroom teachers in managing student behaviour.
  • Encourage and motivate students to engage in their learning.
  • Monitor and report on student progress to teachers and parents.

Requirements:


  • Previous experience as an SEMH Teaching Assistant in a primary setting or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of SEMH needs and strategies to support them.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education or child development.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work.
