SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Lincoln, Lincolnshire
Start Date: Immediately
Salary: £83.33 - £90.00 per day
Contract: Full Time, Monday to Friday, Term Time only.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 3.30pm.

Role Overview:
We are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Secondary Teaching Assistant with hands-on experience within a pupil referral unit, alternative provision, or SEMH School. The chosen candidate will play a pivotal role in offering crucial holistic support to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. This will encompass adeptly managing a range of behaviours linked to SEMH and other additional needs, such as autism or ADHD, and employing various strategies to support students.

SEMH Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide tailored one-on-one support to students with SEMH needs, cultivating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans (BSPs).
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other educational professionals to craft personalised learning experiences.
  • Cultivate a secure and nurturing atmosphere, championing the emotional well-being of students.

SEMH Teaching Assistant Requirements:


  • Experience working within a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU), Alternative Provision, or SEMH School.
  • Experience supporting Key stage 3 and 4 students on a 1:1 or small group basis.
  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for education and a resolute desire to positively impact young lives.
  • Possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Be a patient and empathetic educator, with a clear understanding of verbal de-escalation techniques.
  • Be committed to safeguarding, child protection and championing the welfare of children and young people.
