Justteachers is seeking a nurturing and positive 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a SEMH School on the outskirts of Norwich. This role is full-time and is on a long term supply basis, starting in April 2025.

This is a nurturing SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school designed to support students with challenges related to their social, emotional, and mental well-being. The schools focus is to create a safe, supportive, and understanding atmosphere where students can thrive academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored 1:1 support, adapting learning activities to meet the students specific needs.
Foster a positive and encouraging environment to help develop confidence and independence.
Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to implement personalised learning strategies.
Assist with classroom activities, ensuring the student remains engaged and supported.
Support the students emotional and social development, promoting positive behaviour and well-being.
Provide personal care if required, ensuring the students comfort and dignity.
Key Requirements:
Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally within an SEN/SEMH setting.
Knowledge and understanding of a range of SEN, including autism, dyslexia, and emotional/behavioral difficulties.
Two education or school-based references.
Ability to work effectively with students with varying needs, offering tailored support.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students in their learning and personal development.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
A Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3) would be advantageous.
