Job Description

We are looking for a caring, patient and dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a school and provide tailored support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs. If you’re passionate about making a real difference in a child’s life and enjoy working in a nurturing, inclusive environment – we’d love to hear from you. Beginning ASAP.

Duties as a SEN 121 Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide individualised support to a pupil with identified SEN (e.g., autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, or SEMH)

  • \n
  • Support the pupil’s academic, social and emotional development in the classroom and during transitions

  • \n
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals to implement strategies and track progress

  • \n
  • Adapt resources and activities to meet the child’s needs

  • \n
  • Help build the pupil’s confidence, independence and self-regulation skills

  • \n
  • Foster a positive, safe and encouraging learning environment

  • \n

Ideal SEN 121 Teaching Assistant:

    \n
  • Has experience working with children with SEN in a school or similar setting

  • \n
  • Is patient, calm, and empathetic, with strong behaviour management skills

  • \n
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with children and adults

  • \n
  • Works well as part of a team, and is proactive and flexible as a SEN 121 Teaching Assistant.

  • \n
  • Holds a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 TA or equivalent) – desirable but not essential

  • \n
  • Is committed to supporting the inclusive values of the school

  • \n
