If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join one of our client Independent SEND School in Stoke as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be at the heart of supporting pupils aged 7 to 16 with a variety of needs, including ASD, ADHD, MLD, SEMH, and challenging behaviors. You will work closely with the teaching staff to provide tailored support, helping students engage in their learning and develop the skills they need to succeed. Your role will be crucial in helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally in a safe, nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students learning: Assist with the delivery of tailored lessons and activities that cater to each child's individual needs.
- Encourage positive behavior: Help manage classroom behavior and implement effective strategies to support students with challenging behaviors.
- Foster emotional and social development: Provide one-on-one or small group support to help students build confidence, develop social skills, and improve their emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with the team: Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for the students.
- Promote inclusion: Ensure that every student feels valued, respected, and included in the school community.
- Be a role model: Support students in becoming independent learners and developing self-esteem through encouragement and guidance.

Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (desirable but not essential).
- A passion for working with young people who face additional challenges.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
- A patient and caring attitude with a commitment to supporting the welfare of students.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
