SEN Teacher - Portsmouth

Prospero Teaching are working closely with an excellent independent school located in Portsmouth. The School are looking to appoint a dynamic and passionate teacher, to support their students with additional learning needs.

This is to start in September 2024, on a full-time basis.

The position will involve teaching English and Maths to Key Stage 3 students in their resourced provision.

About you:

  • You are an innovative, compassionate, and resilient educator with experience or a strong desire to work within SEMH.
  • Your role will be pivotal in fostering a trauma-informed environment, supporting students with additional needs including Dyslexia and ASD.
  • You will have teaching experience with an ability to engage and inspire students with additional learning needs.

Key Requirements:

  • SEN teaching experience.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with children with dyslexia is desirable.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development in special education.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Planning and delivering lessons in English and Maths to Key stage 3 pupils.
  • Implementing positive behaviour management strategies in line with the schools values and procedures.
  • Creating a positive, nurturing environment that motivates, engages, and inspires students.
