SEN Teacher in Bournemouth Area – Primary School

Start September 2024

Pay – £140-£230 per day (depending on experience)

Location - Bournemouth

Hours - 8am – 4pm

Temporary Full-time with Potential to Become Permanent

Overview:

Supply Desk is seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a Primary SEN school in Bournemouth. This full-time position starts in September 2024 and runs until July 2025, with the potential to become permanent. The ideal candidate will have excellent subject knowledge, strong classroom management skills, and a commitment to supporting pupils with special educational needs.

About the Role:

You will be teaching English, Maths, and other subjects to Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 students with Autism and Asperger's. The role involves working with small groups of 3-5 students, supported by a Teaching Assistant in each class. The timetable includes approximately 18 lessons per week, along with PPA time.

  • Provide educational experiences that effectively address the needs of children with learning difficulties.
  • Create stimulating, informative, well-planned, and relevant learning activities.
  • Minimise the impact of, or compensate for, any disabilities.
  • Deliver a curriculum that extends beyond the classroom, preparing pupils for adulthood, including work, leisure, and potential parenthood.
  • Have a current valid DBS or the willingness to obtain one.
  • Work confidently with Key Stage 1-2 pupils.
