Serving students aged 6 - 19 with diverse learning challenges, including but not limited to Asperger's Syndrome, Autism, and other complex conditions, this school is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to become an integral part of its passionate team.

The Role / Key Responsibilities:

As an SEN Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment tailored to the unique needs of each student. Your responsibilities will include designing and delivering engaging lessons that cater to varying abilities and learning styles, while fostering independence and personal growth.

You will collaborate closely with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to develop individualised education plans (IEPs) and support strategies that address students' academic, social, and emotional needs. Additionally, you will utilise effective behaviour management techniques to promote positive learning experiences and ensure the well-being of all students.

Flexibility and adaptability are essential as you navigate the dynamic nature of working with students with SEN, adjusting teaching methods and approaches as necessary to meet evolving needs.

Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Specialist knowledge and experience in teaching students with SEN, gained through previous roles or relevant training
  • A genuine passion for working with individuals with diverse learning needs and a commitment to promoting their academic and personal development
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and other stakeholders
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to effectively plan and differentiate lessons to accommodate varying abilities and learning styles
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to working within a multidisciplinary team, contributing ideas and support to enhance the overall learning environment
