About the Role:

• £85 to £100 per day

• Primary SEN Roles Available

• Full-time position - Monday to Friday (8:30 to 15:30)

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support students across four broad categories of need: communication and interaction, cognition and learning, social, emotional and mental health difficulties, and sensory and/or physical needs

• Work alongside class teachers and therapy teams to help each child progress towards their goals

• Gain experience working with mild to severe learning difficulties, verbal and non-verbal communication techniques, physical disabilities, sensory impairment, autism, and complex medical needs

• Participate in personal care tasks, hoisting, medication, and feeding as necessary

• Individualise support where students may learn through sensory approaches, play and practical activities, or more formal methods

Who We're Looking For:

This role suits candidates looking to gain experience towards a career or further education in occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, SEN teaching, or working in the disability sector. Ideal candidates will have:

• A strong understanding of the need to support pupils with additional needs

• Experience supporting young people with SEN (advantageous)

• Training in PECS, Makaton, manual handling, and hoisting (desired but not essential)

• Adaptability, motivation, and initiative
