About the Role:
£85 to £100 per day

Full-time position - Monday to Friday (8:30 to 15:30)

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support students across four broad categories of need: communication and interaction, cognition and learning, social, emotional and mental health difficulties, and sensory and/or physical needs
Work alongside class teachers and therapy teams to help each child progress towards their goals
Gain experience working with mild to severe learning difficulties, verbal and non-verbal communication techniques, physical disabilities, sensory impairment, autism, and complex medical needs
Participate in personal care tasks, hoisting, medication, and feeding as necessary
Individualise support where students may learn through sensory approaches, play and practical activities, or more formal methods
Who We're Looking For:
This role suits candidates looking to gain experience towards a career or further education in occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, SEN teaching, or working in the disability sector. Ideal candidates will have:
A strong understanding of the need to support pupils with additional needs
Experience supporting young people with SEN (advantageous)
Training in PECS, Makaton, manual handling, and hoisting (desired but not essential)
Adaptability, motivation, and initiative
