About The:

This School is committed to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for young people with a range of special educational needs but especially Autism and ASD. They focus on individual growth, ensuring each student reaches their full potential through tailored educational programs and comprehensive support.

Role Overview:

As an SEN TA, you will play a crucial role in supporting these amazing students, many of whom exhibit challenging behaviour. Your responsibilities will include assisting with educational activities, managing behaviour effectively, and providing personal care when needed. This is a highly rewarding role that requires patience, empathy, and resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in delivering tailored educational programs.
  • Manage and respond to challenging behaviour using appropriate strategies.
  • Provide personal care to students, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with the educational team, parents, and external professionals to support student development.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young people with challenging behaviour is essential.
  • Ability to provide personal care when necessary.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work.
  • Being a driver is preferred due to the school's location.
