SEN Teaching Assistant - Full-Time, Term-Time Only

Are you passionate about making a positive impact in young people's lives? We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in the picturesque town of Ringwood, Dorset.

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Ringwood, Dorset
Hourly Rate: £11.72 - £12.78
Annual Salary: £20,941.30 - £22,835.30 (Term-Time Only)
Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week, term-time only

Role Overview:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students aged 11-16 with special educational needs, including Autism. You'll work closely with teachers to provide classroom support and engage students in outdoor activities such as Bushcraft and life skills. Your role will be instrumental in helping students achieve their academic, social, and personal development goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised support to students while ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Help students work towards their Education and Healthcare Plan (EHCP) targets.
  • Implement positive behaviour management strategies tailored to individual needs.
  • Keep accurate records of incidents, accidents, and health and safety matters.
  • Encourage positive social interactions and teamwork among students.

  • Have basic numeracy, literacy, and ICT skills.
  • GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade 4 or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
