SEND Teaching Assistants Urgently Required in Lewes, East Sussex.

Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Contract: Permanent - Term Time Only
Hours: 30 hours per week (2 to 5 days)
Working Weeks: 39 weeks worked per year, 46.2 weeks paid per year
Salary: Pro-rata starting from £16,379 per annum
Location: Lewes, East Sussex

Role Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join this team. As part of the school community, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, helping them to achieve their full potential and participate fully in school life.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to implement individualised learning plans for students with SEN.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students in the classroom and during activities.
  • Assist students with personal care and mobility needs, as required.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected.
  • Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with colleagues and parents/carers.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient and empathetic approach to working with students with SEN.
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Experience working with students with SEN is desirable but not essential.
  • Willingness to undergo training and professional development related to SEN support.

Working Hours:
The role involves working 30 hours per week, spread across 2 to 5 days, during term time only. Specific working hours will be discussed at interview and agreed upon successful appointment.
