The Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to assist in the delivery of tailored education plans for students with SEN. Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups to engage with the curriculum
Helping students with personal care, communication, and mobility needs
Assisting in the development and implementation of individual learning plans (ILPs)
Promoting a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
Supporting children with their social and emotional development
Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student progress
What We Are Looking For:
We are looking for someone who is patient, empathetic, and motivated to support children with special educational needs. Ideal candidates will have:
Experience working with children or young people (preferably within an SEN setting)
A genuine passion for working with children with diverse needs
Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with students
A proactive approach to supporting both individual and group learning
The ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing situations
A team player who works well with staff, parents, and external professionals
Qualifications :
SEN experience or a relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs is desirable but not essential
Any additional training in first aid, behaviour management, or autism awareness would be advantageous
