Vetro Education is seeking to recruit experienced and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to work in a Special School in Merthyr Tydfil. The schools support learners with ASD, PDA, PMLD Global Delay Disorder and challenging behaviour and Vetro Education is looking for SEN Teaching Assistants in or around the Merthyr area who are experienced in any of these fields.

As a Welsh Government framework staffing provider, Vetro Education will allow you to work in Primary, Secondary and SEN schools as well as numerous privately run education provisions across Wales.

Overview:

Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Pay: 83.50 per day minimum

Location: Merthyr Tydfil

Hours: Full and Part time roles - Monday to Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm

The role: What you'll be doing as a SEN Teaching Assistant

Supporting and supervising learners with ASD, PDA, Global delay Disorder or Challenging Behaviour

Assisting learners at the start of the school day and when leaving at the end of the day

Assisting staff members in preparing the classroom for a lesson

Working with learners in small groups and or working 1:1 with children with additional needs

Support the class teacher in the delivery of the lessons

Assist learners at break time with their lunch

Engage learners with both classroom and out-of-classroom activities

Work in accordance with the school's behaviour management policies

The candidate: What you'll need to be successful as a SEN Teaching Assistant

At least 3 months experience of working with children in schools, nurseries or childcare settings - experience within an SEN setting would be beneficial

Registration with the EWC (the Education Workforce Council) - we can help you with this

References covering the last two years (no gaps)

Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
