GSL Education is currently seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join an exceptional SEN school in Redruth on a full-time, long-term basis, with the potential for permanent roles. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting students with special educational needs and making a meaningful difference in their lives.

About the School

The school provides a tailored education programme for students with complex needs or those with EHCPs at risk of requiring residential placements. Many students have faced challenges thriving in mainstream or special schools in Devon or are transitioning back from out-of-county placements.

Students benefit from high levels of support, often including one-to-one assistance and bespoke timetables. Learning is designed to be engaging, resilience-building, and conducive to significant academic and personal development through a combination of classroom and outdoor activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Offer personalised guidance and support to students as a Learning Mentor.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to create and implement effective support plans.
• Foster a nurturing environment that encourages positive social interactions and communication skills.
• Assist students with academic tasks, daily activities, and behaviour management interventions.
• Promote positive outcomes and resilience through tailored approaches.

Requirements

• A valid UK Driving Licence and access to a car.
• Willingness to use your car for business purposes with appropriate business insurance.
• Availability to start immediately in a full-time role.
• Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach.
• Flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to supporting students’ success.
