GSL Education are seeking compassionate and motivated SEN Teaching Assistants to join a vibrant school in Maidstone. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a nurturing and inclusive educational setting.

About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who have a range of additional needs, ensuring they are engaged, supported, and empowered to succeed in their learning. You will also collaborate with teachers and other staff to promote an inclusive and stimulating environment.

Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant (TA):


  • Build strong, positive relationships with students, fostering their confidence and independence.
  • Provide targeted support during lessons to help students engage with the curriculum.
  • Assist with classroom activities, ensuring they are accessible to students with varying needs.
  • Monitor and document student progress, sharing insights with the teacher and SEN team.
  • Support with social and emotional development, creating a safe and encouraging atmosphere.

Requirements of the SEN Teaching Assistant:


  • Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN setting.
  • Understanding of a range of SEN conditions and strategies for support.
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
  • A proactive attitude and a commitment to making a difference in students' lives.
  • An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
