Job Summary:



We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with special educational needs (SEN). The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a nurturing and supportive learning environment tailored to the individual needs of our students. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of children within our caring school community.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special educational needs, ensuring their safety, well-being, and engagement in classroom activities.

  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support the learning goals of each student.

  • Collaborate with the class teacher to modify and adapt lessons to meet the needs of SEN students, ensuring access to the full curriculum.

  • Monitor and track the progress of students, maintaining accurate records and providing feedback to teachers and parents.

  • Support students with emotional, social, and behavioral difficulties, helping them to develop positive relationships and appropriate behavior.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported.



Qualifications and Experience:




  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with SEN students, is highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by children with SEN and a commitment to supporting their educational and personal development.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.

  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm and positive in challenging situations.

  • A proactive and flexible approach to working, with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the students.

  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
