SEN Teaching Assistant - Clacton-on-Sea

The Role:

  • Supporting students with a range of SEN needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH).
  • Providing 1:1 or small group support to help pupils engage with learning.
  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management.
  • Encouraging pupils' independence and confidence in a structured learning environment.
  • Implementing EHCP (Education Health and Care Plan) strategies and adapting learning materials as needed.
  • Building positive relationships with students, staff, and parents to create a supportive learning environment.

Who We're Looking For:

  • Experienced SEN Teaching Assistants or individuals with a passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • Someone with patience, resilience, and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to different learning styles and needs.
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • Experience working in SEN or mainstream settings (voluntary or paid).
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
