SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Scarborough, North Yorkshire
Start Date: April 2025
Contract: Full-Time or Part-Time, Term Time Only
Salary: £1906 – £2275 per month
GSL Education is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Scarborough, supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about making a positive impact in education.
The Role as an SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Support students with SEN, SEMH, Autism, and learning difficulties.
- Assist in 1:1 and small group interventions to encourage engagement and development.
- Work alongside teachers and therapists to implement tailored learning strategies.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
- Adapt teaching materials to meet individual learning needs.
Who We Are Looking For:
- Previous experience working with SEN, SEMH, or challenging behaviours is preferred.
- Candidates with backgrounds in care, youth work, sports coaching, or psychology are encouraged to apply.
- Strong communication, patience, and resilience.
- A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
- A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
