Are you passionate about supporting a lovely child with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)? Do you have experience or a keen interest in working as a Teaching Assistant? We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant, supportive team at a lovely primary school in Newham.

You will be working closely with a high-functioning child with ASD, helping them thrive in their learning environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is empathetic, patient, and eager to make a positive impact on a child's educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a high-functioning child with ASD.
  • Help facilitate the child's learning and development in line with their individual educational needs.
  • Support the child's social and emotional well-being, building their confidence and self-esteem.
  • Collaborate with class teachers and the SENCO to implement tailored strategies and interventions.
  • Encourage and promote positive behaviour and social skills.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents and carers.

Job Requirements for this SEN TA role in Newham

  • Experience of supporting SEN children particularly in a mainstream school
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible and any employment breaks must be explained
  • You must have the legal right to work in the UK
