We are looking for a patient, caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team at a wonderful school. This rewarding role involves working closely with pupils who have a range of additional needs, helping them access the curriculum and thrive in a nurturing learning environment. Beginning ASAP.
Duties as SEN Teaching Assistant:
Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEND (e.g. autism, ADHD, speech and language, SEMH)
Support pupils’ academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and social development
Work under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO to adapt learning materials and strategies
Help manage behaviour positively and consistently in line with school policies
Maintain records of progress and contribute to reviews and support plans (e.g. EHCPs)
Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families
Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:
Has experience working with children with special educational needs
Is calm, compassionate, and able to use their initiative
Has good communication and interpersonal skills as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
Is flexible, reliable and committed to inclusion and equality
(Desirable) Holds a relevant Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or training in areas like autism awareness or Team Teach
