We are seeking a dedicated and innovative SENCO to join a team at a brand new, state-of-the-art SEN school in Surrey. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the school's SEN provision from the ground up, ensuring that all students, regardless of their needs, have access to a high-quality and enriching education.
About the Role:
- You will be the lead professional for SEN, providing expert guidance and support to staff, students, and parents.
- You will develop and implement a comprehensive SEN policy and strategy, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and best practice.
- You will lead the school's SEN team, providing training, support, and guidance to staff on effective SEN practices.
- You will work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure that students with SEN receive the appropriate support and interventions.
- You will be responsible for the assessment, monitoring, and review of students with SEN, ensuring that their needs are met and their progress is tracked.
What They're Looking For:
- A qualified teacher (QTS) with a proven track record of successful teaching and a strong understanding of SEN.
- A recognised SENCO qualification (e.g., National SENCO Award).
- Experience in developing and implementing effective SEN policies and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with staff, students, and parents.
