SEND Consultant – High Needs BlockLondon£500-£550 per day (Inside IR35)6 months contractWe are currently working with a London Local Authority who are actively seeking a highly skilled SEND Consultant to join their team to play a pivotal role in the financial assessment and management of the High Needs Block. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of children and young people, ensuring that resources are effectively allocated and managed to support their educational journey.Role Overview: As a SEND Consultant focusing on the financial assessment of the High Needs Block, you will be responsible for evaluating and advising on the financial aspects of SEND provisions. Your expertise will guide the efficient allocation and utilisation of resources, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and delivering value for money. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including educational institutions, and parents, to support the financial planning and management of SEND services.Key Responsibilities:Conduct comprehensive financial assessments of SEND provisions within the High Needs Block.Develop and implement effective financial strategies to ensure optimal use of resources.Analyse and monitor budgets, expenditures, and funding allocations, providing detailed reports and recommendations.Work closely with schools, and other educational settings to ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.Provide expert advice and support on financial matters related to SEND funding and resource allocation.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify areas for improvement and implement cost-effective solutions.Stay updated on changes in legislation, policies, and best practices related to SEND funding and financial management.Engage with parents, caregivers, and advocacy groups to address concerns and ensure transparency in financial processes. Qualifications and Experience:Advanced qualifications (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIPFA) are not essential but desirable.Extensive experience in financial assessment, management, and planning, preferably within the education or public sector.In-depth knowledge of SEND funding mechanisms, legislation, and policies.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality results.Commitment to promoting inclusive education and improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
