Job Title: SEND Teacher

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teacher with a strong background in working with students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The successful candidate will have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience in creating and delivering tailored educational programmes that meet the diverse needs of our students.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, individualised lessons to students with ASC, PMLD, and SEMH needs.

  • Develop and implement personalised learning plans (EHCPs) for each student, ensuring they receive the support and resources they need to succeed.

  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and progress.

  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and other stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to provide holistic support for students.

  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in SEND education.

  • Promote positive behaviour management strategies and support students in developing social and emotional skills.



Requirements:




  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience working with students with ASC, PMLD, and SEMH needs.

  • Strong understanding of SEND legislation and best practices in special education.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.

  • Commitment to continuous professional development and inclusive education.

  • Additional qualifications or training in SEND.

  • Experience in using assistive technology and adaptive resources in the classroom.
