Job description
Five educators are looking for an experienced SEND Teacher to work in a SEND school with students aged between 5-19. This is a full-time position within a small school, there are currently around 50 students attending daily.

The school consists of a close team of teachers with an experienced team of teaching assistants on hand. All staff receive regular training from senior leaders, to give their pupils, the best opportunity possible.

Tasks:


  •  Design proactive lessons to get the children engaged.
  •  Tailor Lessons to individual learning styles that suit the student’s needs best.
  •  Ensure Student safety when traveling around school and report to the line manager when an incident or concern arises.
  • Help with personal care when necessary (e.g. Toileting needs)
  •  Encourage social engagement between him and other students
  •  Report any Health & safety, social, physical, or emotional concerns to the correct staff member.
  •  Ensure that you create an environment of respect where all students feel equal.
  •  A strong understanding of the UK curriculum

Requirements for the role:


  • Hold a UK Qualified Teacher Status
  •  Hold a PGCE or relevant teacher qualification/Degree
  •  Excellent communication skills
  •  A positive attitude with a great level of patience
  •  2 years experience working with children with Send Needs/Vulnerable children
  •  Understanding & the ability to deal with a wide range of behavior issues that could be mental or physical.
  •  A strong commitment to the school (Sudden big changes can often be difficult for students to comprehend and can cause distress)
