SEND Teaching Assistant KS2

Position: SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Key Stage 2
Employment Type: Long-term, Full-time

Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant with a passion for making a difference in the lives of children with complex needs? Tradewind is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team and support a KS2 student with unique learning requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to a KS2 student with complex needs, ensuring their safety, well-being, and engagement in the classroom.
• Assist in the development and implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs) to meet the student's specific learning goals.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to monitor and evaluate the student's progress.
• Employ a variety of teaching strategies and resources to cater to the student's learning style and abilities.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages social interaction and development.
• Support the student in developing independence and life skills.
• Assist with personal care and mobility needs, if required.
• Maintain accurate records of the student's progress and communicate regularly with relevant stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant, particularly with children who have complex needs.
• Strong understanding of SEND best practices and strategies for supporting children with diverse learning requirements.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
