Job Duties:
- Provide support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) within a Secondary Resource Provision
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEND
- Support the classroom teacher in creating a positive learning environment
- Help students with their academic and personal development
- Assist with classroom management and behaviour support
- Work collaboratively with other staff members and external professionals
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- Experience working with students with SEND
Education:
Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3)
Experience:
Previous experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of SEND and relevant support strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Good organisational skills
- BSL Level 2 or above
- PECS or MAKATON
Preferred Qualifications:
- First Aid training
- Mental Health First Aid qualification
